I like your welcome message. Thank you! It has a good set of ideas for "what to do next", how to get help and a kind welcome.
Two suggestions: (1) Many wikia have different welcome messages for people who sign in with an ID and those who don't have an ID yet. (See Literature's IP Welcome; right now you tell people who signed in to create an ID.) And (2) add to user talk pages, they are there for your messages, but let people decide when they want to remove or archive their own user content.
Again, it's a good welcome message, warm and friendly, and it's a smart way to retain users by making sure that editors know their contributions are appreciated. I like the picture! -- CocoaZen 14:04, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, you have a point that you had written the original message. Many times that would be ok, but I liked the original, so it's back too. :-)
- I've got a bunch of other (non-wiki) things to to, but I'm going to try to stop by in between my chores today. I took a quick look at the favicon's, but they didn't show up on the browser I was using yesterday. I'll try again today (different browser, and If I still can't see them, I'll download them and look in a different tool). Take care, and thanks for all the great contributions you're making! -- CocoaZen 14:49, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
Sorry, but I don't think I can fit in an interview - I'm doing a lot of things this summer. There are hundreds of other wikias, though, so I'm sure that there is another founder ready for an interview.
Ya,don't abandon this wiki.Too many founders give up(Jmoysae left Novelas within the first month,of course traffic was low until a couple years later, but whatever)User:Serprex 03:13, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Logo Attempts Edit

Signed your guestbook! :-) -- CocoaZen 03:02, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
- ditto :-) And I would like to tell you that the Symbolism Wiki seems to be a very nice idea. I looked around a bit and found the logo is very well done, the first written pages are good … and … I like the use of flickr images … and I hope you get more committed users within the next months, and I hope you enjoy expanding this wiki :-) Please let me know if you need any help from the Community Team. --rieke 02:10, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
Symbolism Wiki Edit
I don't know if you'd be interested, but I intend to start a symbolism wiki that will be based on several written sources and include images of the symbols. I was looking for an existing one, but... This one seems to be more or less abandoned. If you care to send me an email, I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.

- Theorist - Is there a reason to start a different wiki? Why not just contribute here? You can become an administrator here, if that's your wish. This one has not been abandoned yet, although it is growing slowly. -- CocoaZen 05:00, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Awesome idea! Edit
Hey Swannie your idea is awesome and absolutely needed and helpful. Ive searched the net for a good index of symbols and their meanings for different reasons. I cant wait to see this page start growing. You should really try to contact some one who has knowledge and ask them to contribute something. And take all the already minor lists existing for example on wikipedia: and post them here, for example start off with religious symbols. I think that would make this site more randomly clicked and hopefully that can help it grow.
Many thanks SerenityFoxtrot 20:35, 22 February 2008 (UTC) Mattias
Hi Swannie. Symbolism is an interesting wiki and I love your logo! The one spotlight criteria I see that you don't meet is that while you have 200+ pages, 190 of them are stubs (they're even categorized by you as stubs). So the requirement for 100 pages not counting stubs isn't really met. Maybe you could work on bulking up some of the content a bit and ask again. :) -- Wendy (talk) 16:44, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
I just keep seeing you around Wikia! :p Thanks for the welcomes (here and at Logo Creation Wiki). Hamako 01:30, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Hi Swannie, love the skin here! I have a bit of a problem. Or Terms and Conditions say that you can't put your own ads on the site, and your sitenotice is really another ad (even the same size as the ad banners). I know you want to promote this, and adding a toolbar is a great idea, but it is an issue. Maybe you could swap it for a text link to the site instead? The effect would be the same, but it wouldn't look so much like an ad. Many thanks -- sannse (talk) 09:23, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
Admin Rights & ResponsibilitiesEdit
Thanks, Swannie! I appreciate your trust and hope to continue being a good contributor and to help with the care of this wikia. -- CocoaZen 03:47, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
WikiSocial graphics Edit
Hi Swannie, i've seen that you're good with graphics. So I was wondering if you would be able to create some graphics for our welcome page for newbies and maybe other pages later. We're not sure what we want at the moment, but i'm just seeing if you would be willing to do this? Thanks Anarchyuk11:38, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
Hi Swannie. As you're an admin here, I want to point out that Special:Contributions/220.127.116.11 needs checking. They've been adding odd content and ruining existing articles for months. I've gone through the first page and deleted many, but there are hundreds. Probably too many for one person - is there anyone you know who would like to become an admin here to help out with this?
