Added by Brandondorf9999Purple is also the color of mourning widows in Thailand. It was also a color of mourning in the U.S. and England -- used by more distant family members or at later stages of mourning for close members (such as widows after 1 year). Because of this use purple and lavender, which was also used, are sometimes considered unlucky colors.
In the Concentration Camps run by the Third Reich, purple was the color of the triangles used to designate Jehovah's Witnesses.
Purple is sometimes associated with spirituality. This is because purple, or violet, is at the top of the color spectrum. Of the colors in the visible spectrum, it is the one that vibrates at the highest frequency. Some people believe that when we become more spiritual, we too raise the rate at which we vibrate. Purple, or violet, is associated with the seventh chakra, located at the crown of the head. This is the chakra of connection to spirit.
