The azalea is a flower that symbolizes many different concepts. First, it is a symbol of self recognition and caring for yourself. Next it is a symbol of fragile passion. Lastly, the Chinese consider the azalea a symbol of womanhood. Used as a symbol in the poem by Sylvia Plath called Electra on Azalea path. This poem uses this metaphor in the sense of the "womanhood"
